    NEW YORK TRIP on 5/Jul/2019:

    • DEPARTURE LOCATION: Davenport Road X Yonge street (Yonge/Bloor subway)

    IMPORTANT:

    • Bring your PASSPORT with an AMERICAN VISA on it
    • Bring your TICKETS
    • Bring US$7 CASH for US border fees.
    • Exchange American Dollars before the trip
    • If there is a mechanical failure, be patient and wait for the tour company to fix it. Stressing everyone around you will not help
    • Always arrive early at meeting locations. If you are late, you will be left behind.

    SUGGESTIONS:

    • Bring ear plugs and eye masks. It is great to help you sleep if it’s noisy or too bright. You can buy it at Shoppers Drugmart.
    • Bring snacks and water.
    • Use the bus’ toilette for emergencies only.
    • Bring comfortable shoes, a light jacket (just in case), money and credit card, hat, sunscreen, not too much luggage
    • Bring enough money to eat and take transportation when necessary, and pay for attractions. We suggest a minimum of CD$300
    • As soon as you arrive look for the tour guide and get inside the bus. Try to sit together with other SKOPE students
    • Be careful with your belongings. Do NOT leave anything valuable in the bus.
    • When the trip is over double check you have all your belongings with you. It’s very difficult to recover items you forget on the bus.
    • When the bus starts moving, ask the driver for his phone number. It may be useful in case of emergency.
    • When going out always travel in groups of 3 or more
    • Do not go to areas that are too risky
    • Do not drink too much and don’t do drugs
    • Do not bring anything which may be a problem at US immigration
    • Get plenty of sleep so you can have energy for day time activities

    HEALTH INSURANCE
If you feel sick, you must go to a walk-in clinic. You can find one near you clicking on https://www.guard.me/clinic-search.php
They usually open from 9-5pm or 9-7pm. A family doctor will give you first care and send you to a specialist, if necessary. IF IT'S SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS, you can go directly to a hospital emergency. Just make sure you dont go to emergency for something that could wait until the next day, when a walk-in clinic would be open. Bring your insurance to the clinic or hospital and ask if they can 'bill the insurance company directly'. If not, they will ask you to pay and the insurance company will reimburse you. Your policy has all the restrictions and limitations printed out. Also ALWAYS go to a clinic as soon as you think you have a health problem. Dont wait for a problem to get worse. Finally, call us and let us know what is happening so we can try to help you.

  • Viaje: Niagara Falls

    NIAGARA TRIP on 20/Jul/2019

    • DEPARTURE LOCATION: Davenport Road X Yonge street (Yonge/Bloor subway)
    • BOARDING TIME: 9:30am

    IMPORTANT:

    • Bring your TICKETS
    • If there is a mechanical failure, be patient and wait for the tour company to fix it. Stressing everyone around you will not help
    • Always arrive early at meeting locations. If you are late, you will be left behind.
    • Tickets to boat trip is included
    • You will receive a raincoat. Protect your camera/phone from water
    • Stay together with the group so we can all board the same boat
    • Meeting point is same as drop off
    • After the boat ride we will walk to the wheel
    • Skywheel is a 10min ride. Line ups vary from 5-20min. Tickets not included.
    • Falls View Casino is far and takes too much time. Casino Niagara requires passport.
    • We prefer you stay with the group, but if you decide to stay in Niagara Falls and skip Niagara-on-the-Lake, let us know at 2pm, when we board to Niagara-on-the-Lake, and you can return to Toronto on your own. There are buses leaving from Niagara's bus terminal and connecting with a GoTrain in Burlington. The trip takes approximately 3 hours and costs around $20.
    • CLICK HERE to access Gotransit
    • Schedule may change due to traffic and other unforeseen circumstances
    • For the most part, there are 2 types of food in Niagara: junk or fancy. Fancy is more expensive and takes time to serve. For that reason, it's a good idea to bring your lunch and some snacks. It will save you time and money!
